There is no hiding that fact. His line up and tactics were wrong and he’ll have to carry the can for that. Many of the players never helped out either and they need to take a look at themselves as well.
We were beaten by a side who showed more desire on the day. However it’s time Celtic fans woke up and really started questioning our board of directors.
What is it they want? Is it a nice cosy relationship with the bank or silverware and success ?
We supporters who spend a lot of money supporting the club whether that be going to the games, buying Channel 67, tops or other merchandise have known for three seasons now that we require two quality centre halfs but all we keep getting hit with are a succession of Bosmans and trialists. We need a quality keeper but we would not shell out for one during the summer again we dithered around until we could get Forster in on loan again.
No disrespect to Forster but he still has a lot to learn and we can’t afford to have someone in goals who does not command their area.
In the wide areas we’re fine and in midfield I’m happy with Kayal and Ledley anchoring that area. However untill we sort out the centrhalf and goal keeping positions we will continue to be soft in the middle.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it we need investment. I’m not saying we run up huge debts but Celtic can handle a debt of around £10m which probably would allow us to address the problems at the back.
Until the level of investment in the team is addressed we won’t improve as a unit. Most of the time the manager and his players do well but they need and deserve some help.
