Ok,here goes.
After a couple of weeks off,we expected Celtic to come out and put in a performance that would hopefully keep the pressure off us slightly. Many expected a complete collapse, and that happened.
To be 3-0 down at any SPL club in first half of any match is unforgivable. Now I know we will get the “yeah, but we haven’t the right to believe we will win every game” stuff, but let’s be honest, we have a technically stronger, fitter and faster team than many in SPL,so really we should be at least expecting to compete wherever we play, not completely falling apart within half an hour. Within that time period it can be said that Lennon looked to be recording an embarrassing defeat in his books, and also possible getting the “we wish you the best in your future endeavours” chat from the Celtic board. Be truthful, how many of you didn’t think that would be the case?
The team were poor all throughout the game, same as in previous poor results, lethargic, slow, sluggish, uninterested,I could go on. It’s simply not good enough. Lennon is now on borrowed time,it surely can’t be much longer before the inevitable happens, can’t it?
Take nothing away from Kilmarnock, they played well and deserved their lead thoroughly and deserved at that point in the game to be 5-0 up.they were well organised, played well the majority of the game, and should have ran out clear winners.
Now onto the the bit that will make it all ok,eh?not quite, yes 3 goals back within a few mins is fantastic, take nothing away from that fact, other than it simply papers over the cracks that seem to be getting worse by the day. So for 6 or 7 minutes Celtic actually got out of the traps and showed what they CAN produce if they get down to it. But the comparisons to this, and let’s say…samaras and his contributions to the games he plays….there simply isn’t that much difference.the similarities are there, they both have what it takes, but only show it at times, which simply isn’t good enough.
We know the problems are deeper than just what transpires out on the pitch,it’s down to poor investment from the board, poor performances by players, and poor management decisions.but let’s get to the real point,3-0 down today,Lennon was prob on the blower to lawwell saying that he was walking,or at least he should have,3-3 that only somewhat prolongs the inevitable, cos to be fair, results have been poor and Lennon must take some consequence in this.
Lennon hasn’t been able to turn round results in big games, although the result today may suggest otherwise.it may pacify a section of the Celtic support but I can’t honestly see this changing.Celtic need a drastic change in fortune, and as much as I have been lennons biggest supported (after all I did set up the StandupforNeilLennon facebook page, and this forum, all down to the support we received for NEIL LEnnon), so folk can’t be quick to say ” oh back the manager” etc etc.you won’t find a bigger backer than me,but I’m afraid I said it under Tony Mowbray,I said it even as far back as when John barnes was in charge, and I’ll say it again, lennons time as manager is up,it’s only the small matter of time,or dare I say it a forth title on the trot for rangers before this happens.wherever and whenever it happens, you can’t change the fact that we have all seen this coming so many times in celtics history.it’s all about opinions, that’s mine.some will like, some won’t,but the spl table doesn’t lie.
