Super sub Hooper makes it a Hoopy 124th for Celtic.

Celtic claimed all three points at Fir Park, against a battling Motherwell side. Celtic created a couple of chances early on,in an evenly matched first half. Motherwell took the lead after a dozen first half minutes. A hooked cross come shot came across the goal while Adam Matthews was caught off guard while motherwell found a lot of empty space in the box to head home from a few yards.
Pressure was on Celtic to find a quick response, and that was found a couple of minutes later, when a ball deep in the box met the lifted foot of stokes who rattled it off the boot into the roof of the net.
Celtic had a few chances which they didn’t capitalise on,and it looked in the second half that Motherwell might be the hungrier of the two teams as they pressed to find a second goal.
But that changed when the hoops gaffer made 2 changes after the hour Mark. A swap of Kris Commons off for Hooper and Samaras off for Paddy McCourt changed the tine of the game, where paddy showed his usual trickery in the box,and had a ball from stokes across the face of goal found hooper to take it home on the line. Celtic held on for 3 points to go back second in the table with a game in hand over Motherwell.
A well deserved result, although there were no major mistakes, still a lot of work to be done in defence at set pieces etc.
Not a lot to complain about today, felt the referee could’ve given a few more bookings to the home side for persistent fouling. And felt we had a couple of clear cut chances that the team could’ve done a lot better with.
Plus points today, I am one of Samaras’ biggest critics, I personally do not like him, simple fact is he has bags of talent when he really shows it,but in 3 or 4 years his return in goals and performances has been disgraceful to put it politely…..BUT…that’s two games or so now that he has improved to an acceptable level. Against Stade Rennais he played well, and got into runs and got up well in the air to set up stokes in mid week, doing the same again today to head on for stokes again to score. A bit more hungry from him,a bit of effort,so pleased for once that he is contributing a least a decent share for a change.
Forrest also gets pass marks, felt Wanyama got about well, and generally everyone did not too badly. It was a massive 3 points today, and would love this to continue on now,and be the turning point to what has honestly been a disgraceful season if standards are anything to go by.
Time to push on now,and continue this small run of decent results now,a bit of desire to win now,a bit of dig,a bit of confidence. Time to start finishing teams off now and get the points deficit down to respectable figures before December 28.
